This summer, a taskforce made up of Leadership Team and Congregational members has been working hard to thoroughly re-examine our Constitution and Bylaws. They have presented proposed changes to the Leadership Team—from deleting stray commas and capital letters to updating more substantive sections—and the Leadership Team is recommending that these changes be adopted by the congregation. The revised version and a summary of the revisions will be sent in the next week or so.
According to our Constitution and Bylaws, the church’s constitution can only be revised at the Annual Meeting, and the proposed changes must be presented to the congregation two months in advance. Therefore, the Leadership Team is calling a special congregational meeting for Sunday, September 16, 2018. This meeting will be held at 11:30 AM, after a community meal following our regular Sunday service. We welcome all members and attenders to come and hear about the proposed updates, and to ask any questions. No vote will be taken at the September meeting; this item will come up for a vote at our Annual Meeting (November 18, 2018 during a meal to follow the Sunday service).
