What did they do that was so special? Reading Nehemiah 7 through the lens of Isaiah 58, we will examine God’s call to fast in a meaningful way, to trust him with our finances, and to lean into the lives and places he has designed for us. We will celebrate a history of obedience and learn about the unique reward God promises. The purpose of this teaching series is to examine the leadership journey of the Old Testament leader Nehemiah, and the exiles, as they rebuilt an urban faith community.

Each stage of formal education marks points of accomplishment and celebration in the life of a student. People aspiring to attain doctorates know that they are only partially completed in their work when obtaining their undergraduate degree. However, it is a moment to celebrate and refocus their efforts before continuing on to the next stage of work. Nehemiah celebrated the completion of one major aspect of the rebuilding project and then recalibrated for he next phase of work.
