25 October 2009   Pastor Dan Collison

Title: "Collaborating in Healthy Leadership" (The Collaboratively Led Church)
Series: Church Without Walls (Part XI)

Summary:  The New Testament is an amazing study of leadership development in the early Christian church. The process was very fluid and dynamic, however, specific principles emerged as the church grew: 1) All Christians should have a ministry, 2) God gives some Christians to be leaders in the Church, 3) Church leadership is always plural, 4) Some leaders emerge as "first among equals", 5) Leadership and ministry are designed to be "gift based", 6) Leadership is recognized and affirmed amidst Christian community.

Title: "Infusing the Artistry of God" (The Artistically Infused Church)
Series: Church Without Walls (Part X)

Summary:  As demonstrated throughout the Bible, people made in the image of a creative God have the ability to communicate powerfully through the creative arts. The arts can convey emotions and deep meaning through eloquent forms, express personal and community beliefs and values, and inform and transform others.

4 October 2009   Pastor Dan Collison

Title: "Seeking Justice for Everyone Else"
Series: Church Without Walls (Part IX)
Text: Micah 6:8; Matthew 22:34-40

Summary:  The prophet Micah came from a small town and yet was personally impacted by the social injustices of the surrounding urban centers of power. Civic and religious leaders were notorious for stealing land and houses from people of lesser position. Adding insult to injury was the manner in which some of this was done in the name of God and on behalf of the religious community. Micah spoke into these egregious circumstances with a clear message from God. His three imperative commands are critically relevant to Christian life in the twenty-first century and how we become socially aware of the people around us.

Title:  “Risking Love” (The Missionally Minded Church)
Series:   Church without Walls (Part V)
Text:   John 17

Summary:  In the final week of Jesus’ life on earth he prayed for his disciples: “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one…as you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.” This “sending” prayer describes the missionary nature intended for all followers of Jesus Christ. The Church without walls considers the Church to be a missionary outpost that sends everyone into the work of mission.
